Keeping the creative cogs turning during Covid-19

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

On the 17th of March 2020 we made the decision to close to the public in line with government advice. We then had the task of cancelling all of our bookings until the end of April. We also had to make the sad decision to cancel two of our big events - Our Art & Nature festival which was set to take place in April and Milton Keynes Open which was due to take place in July.

Westbury soon became silent - No creative practices going on, very few of our artists visiting their studios, a closed office, no phones ringing and our usual bubbly caretaker was self isolating.

Whilst Westbury may be quiet we want to keep our community of artists & makers engaged and feeling inspired, so we've created this blog for you.

We would love the opportunity to share your artwork, perhaps you're busying yourself at home with art projects trying to keep a sense of normality during these "strange times", maybe you've been trying out new art techniques or even learning a new creative hobby?

We would love the opportunity to see images of your finished artwork - Please do share these with us and we can feature in our blog.

Send an email to admin@westburyartscentre.co.uk with a photo of your artwork or a short video along with a bit about yourself. Tell the story behind the piece of work, offer an insight into your inspiration or process. We want to get to know the person behind the art!

As well as images of your completed artwork we would love to see what projects you're currently working on so do please share with us.

We look forward to hearing from you, happy creating!
