KIRSTEEN HOLUJ - CERAMICIST
I have always been interested in mixed media work … ceramics and wood, ceramics and metal … well ceramics and anything really and when the members of the Buckinghamshire Crafts Guild were set a brief to make something for a group exhibition called ‘The Wonder Of Woods’ it gave me an excuse to revisit this idea.
So my inspiration came from the ferns that grown on the forest floor and using copper sheet, wire and some soldering, I made these little stems to fit into a lid on one of my textured porcelain pots.
I am now working in isolation in my old shed in the bottom of the garden where I first starting making pots years ago and will spend some of the time doing more experimenting with metal … maybe even some silver!!!
