In Brazil Vera spent one year in Guignard University of Art before changing degrees and graduating in Anthropology. Vera's artistic work links firstly to the clay, the raw material she identifies herself with.

Vera's sculptures arise from the battle between  expressiveness and this non-passive material. Turning her work into bronze is a passion, and a reflection of  the fragility of life and the symbolic strength of this material."
