COURSE/WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE COURSE: Over the span of five weeks, participants will delve into advanced aspects of life drawing, focusing on facial proportion, enhanced anatomy understanding, and, most crucially, rendering techniques. The sessions are strategically organized to allow participants to progress from one-hour drawings to more intricate two-hour sessions, culminating in a comprehensive 3.5 to 4-hour drawing. Rather than revisiting basics like gesture, pencil handling and the value system of light (covered in the level one course), this course builds upon that foundation. The emphasis shifts towards rendering and unveiling the surface anatomy of the figure. The course is structured to enhance drawing skills and elevate participants’ ability to capture the intricate details of the human figure through advanced rendering techniques. WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR? Adults 18+ This course is designed for individuals who can accurately outline a figure from life, possess a basic skill set in handling art materials like graphite and charcoal pencils. Completion of the level one life-drawing course is recommended as a prerequisite. It serves as a natural progression, where participants can apply and further develop the knowledge acquired in the earlier course. The course naturally builds upon the foundational knowledge gained in the earlier course, offering participants an opportunity to apply and advance their skills. MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT YOU NEED TO BRING: Participants will need the following art materials: Vine charcoal Kneaded erasers Regular erasers Optional: Pen erasure Smooth paper with minimal texture (thick enough to resist erasing) Blending tools Sharpening tools graphite pencils: 2h, 2b, 8b ABOUT THE TUTOR: Csaba Tibor Palotas has been leading a life drawing course in Milton Keynes for around five years. Drawing the human form is his passion, and he enjoys sharing the tips he's discovered along the way. He has exhibited in London and Milton Keynes. He has acquired valuable knowledge by attending numerous workshops with world-renowned artists. He thinks the journey towards mastery is an ongoing process that one can never truly complete. LOCATION: This workshop will take place in either Studio 15 or the Drawing Room. Both rooms are situated on the ground floor of Westbury Arts Centre. Accessible parking spaces are available to anyone who requires it. We are happy to offer assistance to visitors wherever possible, upon prior arrangements.
