Updated: Jun 28

Competition date is Saturday 5th October 2024.

Westbury Arts Centre is inviting Milton Keynes art teachers from all schools in Milton Keynes to submit students’ artwork for free to the competition encouraging across all mediums and scales.

We are particularly encouraging entries from young people from diverse backgrounds and disadvantaged communities. The competition is open to pupils from year one up to year thirteen.

The judging and exhibition, to which the public will be invited, will take place on Saturday 5th October 2024.

The aim of the competition is to inspire and celebrate the work of the many young artists within our community, to give them the opportunity to see their work exhibited professionally at a show that is open to the public, and potentially win private tuition session with a resident artist from Westbury Arts Centre. The school attended by the overall winner of the Young Artist competition will receive a £250 voucher for art materials.

There will be three school year categories, years 1-4, 5-8, 9-13 with an overall ‘Young Artist of the year’ winner. Each school may make up to 10 entries and each pupil may submit 1 piece of artwork. Full T’s and C’s upon submission request.

To enter, email toni.holland@westburyartscentre.org.uk and complete the entry form provided by  19th July 2024. Entries will be judged by our expert panel including resident artists at Westbury Arts Centre.

All submissions will be displayed as part of our Milton Keynes Open Young Artist 2024 exhibition which will take place on Saturday 5th October at Westbury Arts Centre.
