BEE KEEPING TALK

11th March 7-9pm

If you're wondering what bee keeping is all about and would like to know more about the complex life of a honey bee, then join our resident bee keeper, Mike Bensley for a talk all about bees!

Mike will provide an introduction to the life of the Honey Bee and take a look at what happens inside the hive and the division of labour.

You will also learn just how important our bees are and how modern technology has played an imortant part to our understanding of the role different bees undertake.

If you feel inspired to take up bee keeping yourself Mike will be on hand to offer advice.

A BIT ABOUT OUR BEE KEEPER:

Mike has been keeping bees at Westbury for over 20 years, for the last four years we've been lucky enough to have Mike run intensive bee keeping courses here at Westbury.

These practical courses have provided an indepth look at bees and how to keep them.  Many of Mikes students have gone on to set up there own hives and regularly come back to help out.

Mike is passionate about bees and is only to pleased to be able to pass on his knowledge to the next generation of bee keepers.
