VILMA HING
Jewellery Designer & Maker
Vilma creates handcrafted jewellery in silver, brass, copper, gold and precious stones. Her designs are inspired by the shapes and textures of the natural world.
Her love of working with metal began in childhood, spending time in her grandfather’s blacksmith workshop. What started as a an interest with fire, tools and raw materials grew into a passion for transforming metal into something beautiful and meaningful.
Vilma studied jewellery making for four years at Kaunas Applied Arts College in Lithuania, later continuing her training in the UK through City & Guilds courses, the Jewellers Academy, specialist workshops, and a Foundation Degree in Digital Imaging and Design for Media at the University of Bedfordshire. These experiences shaped her approach to jewellery, blending traditional techniques such as forging, wax carving, sand casting and stone setting with contemporary design.
In recent years, Vilma has shared her work at Bucks Open Studios, Northants Open Studios and regional art fairs. Her jewellery has also been shown at The Three Hares Gallery, The Cowper & Newton Museum, Queens Park Arts Centre and Westbury Arts Centre.
Most recently, she had a joint exhibition presenting her jewellery alongside paintings by another artist.
She continues to explore new ideas and techniques in her studio, creating pieces that celebrate both tradition and personal expression.
