Legacy - an exhibition of artworks from Westbury’s archives and private collections
The exhibition is designed to provoke memories of the art created at Westbury from the early 1990s to the present day, offering visitors a chance to contribute their personal reminiscences to research being carried out by Yvonne and Frances.

About the Event
As the charity Westbury Arts Centre matures, artists who currently work there are starting to reflect on the contributions to the cultural life of Milton Keynes made by former studio holders and their associates. The exhibition Legacy is planned as the starting point for a longer research project, which will draw on personal memories and documentary evidence from a range of sources, including materials held in local collections e.g. at the City Discovery Centre and the Living Archive. While the research may lead eventually to a publication, it is also hoped that creative events being planned for 2026 and 2027 will produce artistic outputs which can be woven into the text. To accompany the exhibition Legacy, artists Frances Fox and Yvonne Elliott will design activities which visitors of all ages can engage with e.g. writing and drawing in response to the artefacts on display.
