Exhibition of works by Gity Jamei

Gity was born in Tehran, Iran, where she grew up, studied medicine and then worked as a Doctor until she immigrated to the UK.

Gity has always loved the peaceful tranquility that nature often evokes, and this is a consistent theme in some of her work.  Family has also been very important to her and she has combined this with her fascination for ageing and the cycle of life to formulate much of her more emotive pieces.  Her experiences of the Iran-Iraq war and observation of the consequential human suffering, which she marries with the human costs of the other side of nature, also permeates through her work by means of the techniques she employs.

Although she has contributed to a number of exhibitions, this is Gity's first solo exhibition and brings together her most personal works.
