About the Event
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Create an expressive painting of autumn florals bursting with warmth, light and joy. Loosen up and lift your paintings from lackluster flowers to radiant blooms with Wow factor!!!
Use the wet into wet method and a limited colour palette along with lively direct brushwork to create paintings that are radiant and fresh with a vital balance of areas of impact with strong tonal contrast combined with soft edges integrating the flowers and background sympathetically to create beautiful yet bold artworks.
Explore what makes effective floral compositions and how to create individual floral shapes with simple dynamic marks and shapes.
Build a  regular watercolour practice in a friendly, encouraging class packed with demos and 1 to 1 support from an enthusiastic tutor. You will go home with a painting or two on a certain theme and a bundle of new painting skills and knowledge to develop your confidence and ability to produce successful artworks in the workshop and at home.
This workshop is not appropriate for absolute beginners. Please see other options Westbury Art Centre has to offer if you have no painting experience and wish to try something for beginners before progressing to mixed level workshops with Nicky.
