'A letter to myself' - Eco printing, block printing and stitch workshop

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

A days workshop playing with fabric and words. Led by textile artist Jane Charles with writer and poet Caroline Davies. We will be eco printing a piece of fabric and creating embossed print blocks in the morning. Then using a variety of hand sewing techniques to create a fabric and felt envelope. During the morning Caroline will be inspiring us to write a letter to ourselves, to the past or the future?

Suitable for beginners with an interest in textiles and conversation. There will be further ideas for those with more experience of stitch.

MATERIALS THAT YOU NEED TO BRING:

You will need to bring a basic hand sewing and embroidery kit if you have one, maybe some sentimental little bits of fabric or buttons. Wear an apron or old shirt. Bring your packed lunch.
