Discover Something New at Westbury Arts Centre

We're opening our doors for a lively and welcoming Creative Taster Day, inviting the community to explore a wide range of creative workshops in a relaxed, friendly setting. With short, hands‑on sessions led by supportive tutors, visitors can build confidence, experiment with different art forms, and discover the joy of making without pressure or prior experience. Alongside hands on sessions in our manor house, there will be a day of live demonstrations in The Barn in Eco Printing, Old Masters Drawing, Seasonal Flower Arrangements and Portrait Painting. Frequently Asked Questions

What are the taster sessions about?

These short, hands‑on sessions offer a friendly introduction to a range of art activities. They’re relaxed, creative, and ideal for anyone curious to try something new.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions are held at Westbury Arts Centre; a beautiful house with workshop spaces inside, and a rustic barn accessible from the courtyard.

Do I need any experience?

No experience is needed. The sessions are beginner‑friendly and open to all skill levels.

What materials are provided?

All essential tools and materials are included.

How long is each session?

Each taster session lasts between one and 1.5 hours, depending on the activity.

How do I book a place?

Booking is available online. Spaces are limited to keep the sessions personal and hands‑on, so early booking is recommended.

Is parking available?

Yes. Disabled parking on the drive is reserved exclusively for visitors with a valid Blue Badge, and these spaces operate on a first‑come, first‑served basis — they cannot be reserved. All other visitors can park on Foxcovert Road or Merlewood Drive, just a two‑minute walk around the corner.

Is the venue accessible?

The house and barn have some uneven surfaces and steps due to the nature of the buildings. If you have specific access needs, please get in touch so we can help you plan your visit.

What should I wear?

For the tasters: wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. For the demonstrations in the barn: wear warm layers. There will be fan heaters in case it’s a cold day, but the space is large and heat escapes easily.

Can children attend?

Children are welcome for selected sessions but must be accompanied by an adult. Check individual session descriptions for age guidance.

What if I need to cancel?

If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to someone else. Cancellations made at short notice may mean we’re unable to refill the space, but we always appreciate being informed. As per our T&Cs, we’re unable to offer refunds for cancellations on the day and there will be an admin fee for cancellations made prior to the start date. If the session itself needs to be cancelled for any reason, we’ll contact you promptly with an update and next steps.
