Nicky Hunter is a full time artist specialising in watercolours, she hosts regular painting workshops at Westbury Arts Centre where her studio is based.

Nicky uses traditional watercolour methods with a contemporary flair to paint representational artworks in a loose style. Her work is mainly inspired by nature and ignited by colour;exploring light and transparency and dancing brushwork and clarity of application of paint are important elements of her artwork. She has many years experience teaching watercolours which developed after a 20 year career as a textile designer; painting and illustrating printed fabric collections for well known UK brands and creating embroidery designs for film and TV and prints for fashion design houses across the globe; this experience is were her love for painting florals blossomed and gives her a great sense of colour, design and composition which is evident in her work.
