About the Event

Create a loose and lively painting of this delightful subject using the wet into wet Watercolour method which is perfect to capture elements of nature such as fruit, flowers and foliage.

We will use vibrant colours, transparency and tone to creative an artwork full of light and expression . Working at a large scale to encourage you to push your boundaries and paint a bold yet beautiful painting with lively brush strokes to add a splash of vive and confidence to your work.

Build a  regular watercolour practice in a friendly, encouraging class packed with demos and 1 to 1 support from an enthusiastic tutor. You will go home with a painting or two on a certain theme and a bundle of new painting skills and knowledge to develop your confidence and ability to produce successful artworks in the workshop and at home.

This workshop is not appropriate for absolute beginners. Please see other options Westbury Art Centre has to offer if you have no painting experience and wish to try something for beginners before progressing to mixed level workshops with Nicky.

Artist Nicky Hunter is an accomplished artist and textile designer who tutors watercolour workshops at art schools and art societies around the country;  as one of Westbury's resident artists she also teaches regularly at Westbury Art Centre Friday and Saturday workshops approximately once a month.

The aim is to support you on your watercolour journey, learn new techniques and  methods to improve your painting skills particularly in the loose and dynamic style which Nicky is so well known for. If you love florals, landscapes, birds, animals and natural and organic subjects the content of these workshops will inspire you.
