ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced felt makers
Learn some of the techniques of the ancient art of wet felt making, including how to make and embellish flat felt as well as making 3D felt around a resist. Choose whether to make a cover for a book or kindle, or a small bag for a phone. The techniques can later to be used on wide range of other projects, such as making bowls, vessels, hats and scarves.
ABOUT THE TUTOR:
Hilly Edwards has been running felt making workshops for over ten years and am a member of the International Felt Makers Association. My own teachers include many well known felt makers from across the world. For as long as I can remember, I have dabbled in textile crafts, and then became hooked on felt making. I find wool and felt fascinating, as there is such an enormous variety of what can be made with it, a huge range of materials available, and many different techniques
MATERIALS PROVIDED:
A wide range of colours of wool and embellishment fibres are included for you to choose from, as well as use of equipment.
An A6 hardback book to cover.
Help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits.
MATERIALS TO BRING WITH YOU:
Please bring something towards a shared lunch with you.
3 small old towels plastic carrier bag notebook and pen for notes.
