Time & Location
About the Event
Gity was born in Tehran, Iran where she grew up, studioed medicine and worked as a doctor until she immigrated to the UK.
It was only later in life that Gity studied art, she has been actively engaged in learning a variety of art techniques including Life Drawing, Sound Recording, Video editing, Printmaking, Portrait Painting as well as Art Therapy.
Gity has always loved the peaceful tranquility that nature evokes, and this is a consistent theme in some of her work. Family is also important and she has combined a fascination for ageing and the cycle of life to formulate much of her emotive pieces.
Her experiences of the Iran-Iraq war and observation of the consequential human suffering, which she marries with the human costs of the other side of nature also permeates through her work by means of the techniques she employs.
