COURSE/WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR? The course is suitable for beginners or improvers. ABOUT THE COURSE: This course aims to give people who might be new to sketchbooks and mixed media some ‘tools’ to explore mark making and generate joy in being creative. We will do this by sharing some simple accessible ideas and techniques using paint, ink, collage, simple printing and stitch and give you access to a range of materials to try. At the end of the course you will be at least one completed concertina sketchbook ABOUT THE TUTOR: Hilary Grayson is a passionate maker and contemporary abstract artist. She creates lampshades, pictures and decorative mixed media stitch and textile pieces which incorporate paint, paper, print, collage and cloth often incorporating recycled materials. Hilary loves working into sketchbooks – they are places to experiment and have fun. No drawing skills are needed for this workshop. This is about overcoming the fear of the blank page, letting go and enjoying the process. By joining Hilary's workshop, you can expect a supportive and nurturing environment where you can freely express your creativity. Whether you're a seasoned artist or someone new to art, Hilary's approach focuses on letting go of inhibitions and enjoying the artistic journey. It's a space where you can explore different materials, techniques, and ideas, using the sketchbook as a canvas for your imagination.
