Art & Nature Festival
18th & 19th April
11am - 4pm
We are very fortunate, at Westbury, to have grounds which are home to a wide variety of wildlife, veteran trees and plants, some of which are listed as of special scientific interest, such as finding two noble chafer beetles in the summer on the veteran apple tree.
The gardens are unique in that they form an important wildlife corridor from the ancient woodland of Shenley Wood, through to Howe Park Wood. As the planned building development is now gathering momentum surrounding Westbury, the garden habitat becomes even more important for the rich biodiversity of all living beings which it harbours. Numerous organisations have undertaken surveys in our grounds including Milton Keynes Natural History Society, The Parks Trust and by Martin Kincaid. The findings show a huge variety of fauna and flora.
Join us over the weekend to celebrate this rich biodiversity - The weekend will include a display of the survey findings, exhibition of artwork from our resident artists and activities for both children and adults.
